Our Dental Services

We've listed some of the procedures & dental services we specialise in below. If you're interested in learning more about a particular procedure, please call us on 08-9474-1477.

Enhancement Cosmetic Dentistry

  • Veneers - these are thin, tooth-coloured porcelain (ceramic) shells carefully crafted to bond to and cover the front of unsightly teeth, to enhance the appearance of your smile.
  • Crowns - the best way to protect and strengthen a tooth. A crown fits over the existing natural tooth and replaces the enamel part of the tooth above the gums.
  • Bridges - these replace one or more missing teeth. An artificial tooth anchored in the gap between two teeth.
  • Implants - these are artificial tooth roots that are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing natural teeth. Implants and their attached crowns closely mimic the look and function of real teeth.
  • Teeth Whitening - a variety of products and procedures to enhance the look of your smile.

  • Invisalign - a series of clear aligners that straighten your teeth.

Family & General Dentistry

  • Children - we provide our services to children, with a focus on forming a lifelong relationship with the dentist through our PERE philosophy.
  • Seniors/Pensioners - A 10% discount is available.
  • Fillings - these are used to replace areas of the tooth that have been removed due to decay.
  • Dentures - when many teeth are lost or extracted, a denture may have to be fitted to maintain normal chewing, bite, speech and the appearance of the upper and lower jaws.
  • Wisdom Teeth - these are a valuable asset to the mouth when they are healthy and properly positioned. Often, however, problems develop that require their removal.
  • Root Canal - the aim of this treatment is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to disease, decay or injury.

Nitrous Oxide "Relaxing Gas"

  • Nitrous oxide, or relaxing gas, is a form of inhalation sedation used regularly in dentistry to reduce anxiety and tension during your dental visit. Relaxing gas only lasts for as long as you are inhaling it, and when it is stopped, you are back to your normal self again.

Preventive Therapy

  • Mouthguards - use a mouthguard during any activity that could result in a blow to the face or mouth. A properly fitted mouthguard can help prevent broken teeth and injuries to the lips, tongue, face or jaw.

Minimal Intervention

  • This is a modern dental approach designed around the principal aim of preservation of as much of the natural tooth structure as possible.  We treat the underlying cause, as well as the problem.

Laser Dentistry

  • There are a variety of uses for lasers in dentistry. Lasers can be used for decay removal, gum reshaping, cleaning root canals and can be used in treatment of gum disease and severe periodontal pockets. Lasers can also eliminate the need for the dental drill and reduce patients' fears about treatment. Lasers such as the Waterlase® MD used at Elegant Smiles, can be used to remove decay by totally eliminating the sound, heat, pressure, and vibration of traditional dental drills.  In most cases treatment is virtually painless, and can eliminate the need for needles.

Invisalign

  • Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that are changed around every two weeks to straighten your teeth. The trays are cutomised to your mouth and are removable to eat, brush, floss and for special occasions. The aligners are comfortable and virtually invisible so hardly anyone will know you are straightening your teeth!

University of Missouri researchers have developed a "Plasma Brush" that can make composite fillings last longer. In less than 30 seconds, the plasma brush uses chemical reactions to clean and disinfect the cavity for the filling. The "cool flame" of the plasma brush also forms a better bond for the filling by changing the surface of the tooth, allowing for a strong and robust bond with the filling material. Studies indicate that fillings are 60% stronger with the plasma brush which increases the filling lifespan. With composite fillings generally only lasting 5-8 years, and a tooth being only able to support 2-3 fillings over its lifetime, this could be a big benefit to patients and dentists alike!

Once upon a time, there was a small group of tooth fairies who lived in a tooth amongst the clouds called Elegant Smiles, in South Perth. There were 5 tooth fairies in total and they all loved to laugh. One day, one of the tooth fairies decided she was going to learn how to be a tooth-cleaning tooth fairy. She needed to spend 3 years learning how to be a tooth-cleaning tooth fairy and in her second year, found out she could only be a normal tooth fairy when she was on holidays from the Tooth Fairy University. All of the other tooth fairies were very sad. The tooth fairies had a meeting and decided to hold auditions for a new tooth fairy to come live with them. The tooth fairy that they were looking for needed to be relaxed, fun and loving, supportive and like to be spoilt occasionally. The tooth fairy also needed to be available for Tuesday all-day (until 7:30pm), Wednesday mornings, and either Thursday all-day or Friday all-day… To help us finish this fairytale, please call Sharon on 9474 1477 for an audition and visit our website www.elegantsmiles.com.au, for more information. Tooth fairies who have auditioned before, need not apply. View our SEEK ad Click here.
